Shutter shades are making a come back
Reminiscent of the funky sunglasses available during the 1980‚ Shutter Shades are quickly becoming the hot new trend among celebrities and hipsters. Perhaps the best-known celebrity to wear them is a famous rapper, who had a pair on during his music video‚ stronger‚ in 2007. Shutter Shades are available in a variety of colors and styles and many companies continue to develop new ideas for the styles.
Most shutter shades do not have actual lenses but resemble venetian blinds and are more for fashion than actual sun protection. Many companies that offer these sell directly to consumers as well as retailers, and wholesale shipments are available. Many national stores have begun carrying the shades as the demand grows. Like any fashion trend, it is trickling down to consumers by the way of celebrities.
Because shutter shades are simple plastic pieces, several other companies have begun making similar items in order to cash in on the trend. Similar shades are available in stores and online at lower prices from other manufacturers. However long the trend lasts, it is clear that this remnant from the 1980’s is currently making a big impact on the fashion scene.
